Sichuan Style Stir Fry with Beef

Serves: 4
Prep time:

Beef, sliced500g
Spring onion bulb, diagonally sliced1
Shiitake mushrooms, quartered1 cup
Capsicum, chopped1 cup
Green vegetables, chopped1 cup
Steamed rice, to serve2 cups
Handful of sesame seeds to garnish (optional)


  1. Heat one tablespoon of oil in a wok at medium to high heat. Add beef and season with salt & pepper. Sear well until cooked through. Set aside.
  2. With a little more oil, sauté onion and mushrooms until tender. Add remaining vegetables, tossing on lower heat to tender but slightly crisp.
  3. Stir through the Sichuan sauce until heated for 2 mins. Combine the beef.
  4. Garnish with sesame seeds. Serve immediately with rice or noodles.

Try with chicken, or plant based with tofu and vegetables.
